I'm a gay man, dating a gay man... and I need some advice?
I have been dating this guy for almost 8 months, and I couldn't be happier. We have great communication, a lot in common, and can be happy just sitting and enjoying quiet time together. Not to mention the sex is mind blowing I have an issue, and I don't know if he see's it. I have never been a typical gay man. I don't like bars, I'm not really feminine, and I don't really feel like I fit in the gay world. Not a problem, I'm happy with my friends and family so it's always been a non issue. However, my boyfriend is very active in the gay community. Doesn't do that bar thing, but loves meeting new gay men specifically and hanging out and all that. EVEN STILL, that's not my issue. I don't have any issues with that at all. We are different in that I don't really see myself as a gay man, i see myself as... myself. I think he see's himself as himself, but also as the person that has carved out a niche in the little gay community, which is part of his self identification process I believe. My issue is, it seems he is spending more time talking and texting with them when we aren't together. This seems to be the case more and more every day. I know, we don't have to be in constant communication all the time, but I will literally get maybe 2 txt messages a day... and we will talk on the phone one time where he called me. Trust is not the issue, we still spend time together and have a great time. It's an attention thing. I'm wanting more attention, and I don't know how to convey that without looking like a douche. Am I being irrational? Yeah I'm rambling... but any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Call it cliche' but I'm having a lot of trouble finding a decent guy. I use online dating sites like " Plentyoffish.com," which worked for my straight girlfriends. I'm more than careful and I make it a point to get to know the person online beforehand. It's very clear I'm not looking to " hook up," but to date. I've had a guy stand me up and two try to get way too far on the first date.... Is there something I don't know or something I'm doing wrong?Will " If you feel someone is going to far on the first date you are not a gay man, but a straight woman." Because going out with a person automatically means I will have sex with them...? Huh?

Ok, I know that alot of people will frown at me for bring this up, but I still feel like saying it. Teens date right from high school to college. Some end up marrying " one" person they dated, while some end up breaking up. I see nothing good in giving your heart and possibly your body to a bunch of people, all in the name of " dating." When you end up marrying someone other than a person you dating in your teens and early twenties, wouldn't you feel like crap for giving yourself to so many people in the past? Alot of teens lose their virginity to someone they dated back in high school, I find that really sad. To me, the better option is courtship. Well, I'm a Christian, so yeah. In courtship, you seek to marry that person, but you do not engage in any sexual behavior, and courtship only occurs when you are ready to get married. Not like some 13 year old couples dating. Courtship is for mature people seeking to get married. You court with someone that God has ordained for you, instead for " testing" so many different people through dating.Isn't dating too messy to get into?
